Straight from Osaka, comes to Future Pidgin YPY, the solo project of Koshiro Hino, the mastermind behind the bands goat(jp) and bonanzas as well as founder of the birdFriend label and active since the late 00s in the Japanese DIY universe. His debut album, “Zurhyrethm” ( a verlan for 'zure rhythm,' meaning 'un-timed rhythm' in Japanese) is the collection released by Em Records of Hino's early work and is the album we are most fond of. It cannot be found streaming, probably due to Transliteration problems of the platforms, but you can still find it online.
⟡ Opening the ceremony is Polonius, a multifaceted musician based in Milan who fluctuates between imaginary OSTs and post-internet mythology. Between aliens in ancient Greece, dreamlike heists in the hot sun of Spain and West Indian free jazz on labels such as Sun Ark, Goaty and Discrepant, Polonius remaps psychic boundaries with what he calls science fiction archeomiragical time travel. Whatever that means.
