Ripa di Porta Ticinese,83
On October 15th, for the first time in our spaces in Milan, we hosted the Italian maestro of instrumental psychedelia, Lino Capra Vaccina.
After a classic artistic journey and an experimental stint with pioneering group Aktuala and other brilliant fellow musicians (like Franco Battiato, and Juri Camisasca), Lino Capra Vaccina, near the end of the 70s, recorded his masterpiece, Antico Adagio.
Recently reprinted by Italian label Die Schachtel, the album anticipated countless future experiments in the field of new age and world music but also in avantgarde and electronic music. Apart from a few violin parts and the extraordinary vocal lines (sung by Vaccina himself and Juri Camisasca), Antico Adagio is an album fully built on percussions, and simultaneously it’s the farthest thing from the typical idea of percussions.
In 2015 he released his new album, Arcaico Armonico for the Dark Companion label, and in 2017, Metafisiche del Suono.
His style collects subtle and thoughtful compositions, crafted with vibraphones, marimbas and gong, creating a unique sound, so markedly distinctive of Capra Vaccina.
