⟡ Mark William Lewis is a London-based singer-songwriter and producer. In recent years, he has emerged as one of the most probing artists in that constellation of musicians orbiting Dean Blunt and his world music label. Like some of the elusive artists of that foggy scene, Lewis has not publicly shared much biographical information. However, his songs reveal enough: a fixation with the heaviness of life and death, the intertwined nature of intimacy and disconnection, and the duality of ecstasy and pain. With a low, creaky voice that seems tailor-made to support the weight of these heavy thematic concerns, the artist broods and meanders, finding joy, more often than not, in the quest.
