On Thursday, July 11, the Afro music festival returns with the band Kora Beat.

⟡ Kora Beat is among the most interesting projects on the world/jazz scene in Italy. The band was born Turin from an idea of Maestro Cheikh Fall, a Senegalese musician from Dakar. The kora is a West African harp played mostly in traditional music. The Kora Beat explore the potential this particular instrument has in meeting different genres such as jazz, funk, and modern African rhythms like mbalax and coupé decalé. The result is a completely innovative blend of sounds, supported by an engaging groove and characterized by the dialogue between Kora and Sax.
